As you probably know, the traditional ketchup has sweeteners and preservatives in it, so it takes a bit of getting used to when you make your own sugar-free version. But it’s much cleaner and better for you.

Ingredients
  1. 1 15-oz tomato sauce
  2. 1 6-oz tomato paste
  3. 1tbs cider vinegar
  4. 1/2 tsp onion powder
  5. 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed through a garlic press
  6. 1/4 tsp allspice
  7. Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. 1. In a small saucepan, mix tomato sauce, tomato paste, vinegar, onion powder, garlic, and all-spice with a whisk to combine thoroughly.
  2. 2. Heat over medium high, whisking gently every once in a while as it heats. Cook for about 10 minutes. Add salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  3. 3. Allow to cool and store in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 7 to 10 days.
  4. Variation: For som extra zing, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
